Jon Stuart Anderson

This highly collected Polymer Clay artist is renown globally for his mastery of polymer clay caning. Each “cane” is made with individual colors and shapes to create pictorial images, such as dragonflies, elephants, and fish, plus motifs based on classical ornamentation. Once these intricate canes are constructed and formed into large loaves, the loaves are reduced to form miniature art pieces. These tiny complex canes are painstakingly sliced and applied to create a “dermis” over the armatures. These astonishing works of art are truly one-of-a-kind and never duplicated exactly. Although Jon is known for his canework animals, savvy collectors also seek out his vessels, lamps and flatwork.

Jon’s one-of-a-kind sculptures have been acquired by collectors as diverse as US President Bill Clinton, Pearl Jam drummer Dave Abbruzzese, and fans all over the world as quickly as Jon can make them.
